A program to provide students with a unique opportunity to see a world-class Broadway production of one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays
MACBETH 2022 is a new sponsored ticket access initiative that will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students from underserved communities in the NewYork area to see a world-class production of one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. In partnership with major theatre and education organizations, this program will reach high school and college students who traditionally have been underrepresented on Broadway stages and in Broadway audiences – specifically those from BIPOC communities, first-generation college students and people with disabilities. For some of these young people, MACBETH will be their first Broadway show.
With generous support from our sponsors, we will offer at least 2,022 fully funded tickets throughout our 15-week run at the Longacre Theatre, eliminating the financial barrier to entry for students from these communities.
Representation on stage and the opportunity to attend live theater are equally important to nurturing and developing new audiences. New York’s crown jewel is Broadway. After nearly two years of devastation and lack of human connection across the city, specifically for the performing arts, we aim to create an accessible space that welcomes New Yorkers from a variety of backgrounds to experience the transformational power of MACBETH.
This initiative is made possible by the generous support of Omega, American Express, Baccarat, The Capri Holdings Foundation for the Advancement of Diversity in Fashion and The Peninsula New York.
